Ordering & delivery

What delivery options do you offer?
We offer two speeds at checkout: Priority Delivery and Standard Delivery, which is free once your order is over £300. Each product page shows a live countdown to the cut-off time for your order. See postcode coverage and courier details on our delivery information page.
What time do I need to order by?
Priority Delivery has a 12pm cut-off. Order after the cut-off and it will be processed the following working day — the countdown on the product page always shows the exact time remaining.
Do you deliver at weekends or on bank holidays?
No. Our delivery estimates only count working days and automatically skip weekends and English bank holidays, so the dates shown at checkout are always accurate.
Is there a minimum order value?
Our minimum order value is £48.00 inc VAT. If your basket comes to less than this before delivery, a £30.00 small order charge is automatically added at checkout — add a little more to your basket and it is removed automatically. See our delivery information page for details.
Do you offer discounts for bulk or larger orders?
Yes — discounts are applied automatically at checkout: 5% off orders over £500, 7.5% off over £1,000, and 10% off over £1,500. No code needed.
Can I add to my order or change the delivery date after placing it?
Usually, yes, as long as your order has not already been machined or dispatched. Contact us as soon as possible on 0333 366 0249 or via our contact page and we will do what we can.
Can I collect my order instead of having it delivered?
Yes, collection is available from our factory in Cradley Heath, West Midlands. Let us know when ordering and we will confirm a time once your boards are ready.
How is my order packaged for delivery?
Every board is carefully wrapped and edge-protected to prevent damage in transit. Please check your delivery before signing for it, and let us know within 24 hours if anything is not right — see our returns policy for details.
Do you deliver throughout the UK?
Yes, we deliver to mainland UK addresses using our own fleet and trusted courier partners. If you are in the Highlands or a remote postcode, call us first on 0333 366 0249 to confirm coverage.

Product & materials

What are your skirting boards and architrave made from?
Everything is manufactured from moisture-resistant MDF (MR MDF), machined to order at our own UK factory. Read more in our quick guides.
What is MR MDF and why does it matter?
MR MDF is a higher-density, moisture-resistant board that machines to a smoother finish than standard MDF and copes far better with everyday humidity — which is why it is our standard material throughout the range, including in kitchens and bathrooms.
What thickness options are available, and which should I choose?
We offer 15mm, 18mm and 25mm. 18mm is our best-selling thickness and suits most renovation and new-build projects; 15mm suits new-builds and tighter budgets, while 25mm suits larger rooms and higher-spec homes. Every product page has a full thickness guide.
What height options do you offer?
Heights range from 94mm up to 219mm (94, 119, 144, 169, 194 and 219mm). As a rough guide, ceilings under 2.4m suit 94–144mm, standard 2.4m ceilings suit 144–169mm, and taller or period properties often look best with 169–219mm.
What length options are available?
Our standard skirting and architrave lengths are 3050mm and 4200mm. 4200mm reduces the number of joins on longer walls, while 3050mm is easier to handle and transport for smaller rooms.
What is the difference between un-primed, primed and undercoated finishes?
Un-primed is raw MDF ready for you to prepare and paint. Primed boards arrive factory-primed, ready for your topcoat. Undercoated boards are primed and undercoated at the factory, leaving just a light sand and final coat needed on site — our most popular option for saving time.
Do you supply matching architrave for every skirting profile?
Yes — every skirting profile has a matching architrave under the same name, so you can frame doors and windows in a consistent style throughout the property. Browse the full range on our architrave page.
Are your products suitable for kitchens and bathrooms?
Yes. Because our boards are made from moisture-resistant MR MDF they are well suited to kitchens, hallways and bathrooms, though like any MDF product they should not be permanently submerged or exposed to standing water.

Architrave & doorways

How much architrave do I need for one side of a single door?
Typically 2 lengths at 2440mm plus 1 length at 1220mm, which covers both legs and the head of a single doorway with enough spare for mitred corners. This is available as a ready-made option on our architrave product pages.
How much architrave do I need for a pair of doors?
3 lengths at 2440mm will cover one side of a pair of doors (French or patio-style doorways), again with a little extra for mitre cuts. This is also listed as a preset option on our architrave product pages.
Can I mix a different skirting and architrave profile in the same room?
You can, though most customers keep skirting and architrave in the same profile for a consistent look throughout the room — which is why we make a matching architrave for every skirting design we sell.

Samples & choosing

Can I see a sample before I order?
Yes — every product page has an “Add a free sample to basket” option, or browse and request up to 5 free samples at once on our Free Samples page.
How do I know which profile suits my home?
As a rough guide, simpler profiles like Chamfered or Pencil Round suit modern homes, while more detailed profiles like Ogee or Torus suit period and traditional properties. Our quick guides walk through choosing dimensions and finish, and our team is always happy to advise.
Can you match a profile I already have in my house?
In most cases, yes — we manufacture everything ourselves, so send us a photo and a rough profile size via our contact page and our team will let you know the closest match, or whether we can produce it bespoke.

Fitting & aftercare

Do you provide fitting instructions?
Yes, our free quick guides cover measuring, cutting, scribing corners, fixing, filling and aftercare, and can be downloaded or sent straight to your fitter.
What tools and adhesive do I need to fit skirting or architrave?
Most installations just need a mitre saw, tape measure, a good grab adhesive and a caulking gun for finishing joins — a coping saw is handy for internal corners. Full detail is in our fitting guide.
Can I paint the boards myself?
Yes. Un-primed boards can be prepared and painted from scratch, while primed and undercoated boards just need a light sand and your chosen topcoat — see our finish guide for more detail.
How do I look after MDF skirting once it is fitted?
Routine dusting and an occasional wipe with a damp (not wet) cloth is all that is needed. Our aftercare guide covers cleaning, protecting against moisture and repainting when the time comes.
Can MDF skirting be fitted to uneven or textured walls?
Yes, though on uneven walls we would recommend packers behind the board for a level finish, and on textured surfaces like Artex a stronger grab adhesive usually gives the best result.

Returns & guarantee

What is your returns policy on made-to-order boards?
Because everything is machined to your exact specification, our Returns and Refunds Policy covers both faulty goods and orders placed in error (wrong profile, size, finish or quantity) — returns of correctly supplied goods can be requested within 30 days of delivery, subject to a manufacturing, handling and disposal charge. Full details, including all charges, are on that page.
What should I do if my order arrives damaged?
Check your delivery before signing for it and let us know within 48 hours if there is a problem, with clear photos and your order number — we will sort a replacement as quickly as possible. See our Returns and Refunds Policy for full details.
Do you offer a guarantee?
Yes, our boards come with a lifetime guarantee against manufacturing defects. If a fault does turn up, just get in touch and we will sort it — see our Returns and Refunds Policy for how faulty goods are handled.
